Committed to Responding to the Changing Needs of Children and Families

Hillcrest Children’s Center (HCC) is a non-profit,freestanding outpatient mental health facility located in the District of Columbia. HCCprovides a full range of services in a variety of settings designed to meet the psychological needs of children, adolescents, and families who are confronted with emotional issues in today’s society. Our team of professionals is committed to providing services that promote the well-being of children and families to ensure that their mental health needs are met within their homes, school, and community environments.

At Hillcrest Children’s Center, we put our consumers first offering up-to-date clinical services in a confidential, caring environment. By doing so, we dig deep into the core of the matter to seek out not only the root of the problems but also to find the best resolutions. We are dedicated and committed to establishing good working relationships with each of our consumers. Depending on the individual needs, our services range from a single discipline consultation to a full team evaluation. HCC prides itself on offering the community a continuum of mental health and substance abuse programs such as:

Individual, Group, and Family Therapy: Counseling for individuals, groups and families to resolve symptoms of behavioral, emotional, social, and cognitive disorders.
Psychiatric Evaluation: An intensive psychiatric and psycho-social evaluation of the child’s emotional and behavioral problems.
Parenting Education: Individuals and groups learn and practice skills essential to successful child rearing and healthy family relationships.
Anger and Stress Management: Individual and group counseling is offered to youths whose anger is out of control and is contributing to problems at school, work, and in their personal relationships.
Youth Substance Abuse Treatment: Turning Point is a 90-day intensive outpatient program for youths and families. Youths are required to attend group sessions and undergo individual counseling. Case management services engage and support the family.
Youth Substance Abuse Prevention: Project Success is a science-based program conducted in the schools and natural group settings for youth ages 12 to 18. In addition to education, discussion, and both individual and group counseling, the program offers training and consultation for faculty and parents.
Community Support Services: Psycho-education, school and community consultation, and interventions in the home, school, and other environmental settings to improve parenting, academic, daily living, and behavioral management skills.
Depression Intervention Program: Offering treatments unique to individuals to improve the quality of life of individuals and families struggling with mood disorders.
Crisis Intervention and Emergency Services: Crisis stabilization, conflict resolution, and telephone response 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

These programs allow HCC to encourage children and their families struggling with mental illnesses, serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with any addiction to live, work, and strive towards their best life.
